Presidents Message 2025

Our bird walk to Montauk Point produced a lot of winter ducks. Quite a few people came. There was no wind like it has been and was nice. Pictures of those ducks are in this newsletter. Thanks to our leader John Gluth, all who went, and for your photos. Keep feeding the birds this winter as they need it for energy to keep warm. Try to give them water too. You can buy bird baths that keep the water thawed! Wild Birds Unlimited has them. Or you can pour boiled water in them to thaw them out. I’ve still been seeing a lot of garbage on our highways and roads. Please put a bag in your car for it and tell your kids to do the same. It’s disgusting and has to stop. There’s no more “do not litter” signs up anymore and needs to be.
We have a new editor for the newsletter. Her name is Jeanne Halton. I would like to thank Suzanne Wittenberg for all her years of being the editor. Well enjoy the birds and ducks this winter and try to stay warm!! Watch where you put your space heaters!!!Â

Parks and Trails on Long Island – Sept/Oct 2025
I love going to the beach because it is so beautiful and quiet beach with great views. I love walking along the water to the rocks and back-it’s a great workout. It’s fun looking for shells.
