WE HAVE OFFICIALLY GONE GREEN!

For the past several years, the GSBAS has written, printed and mailed a beautiful 8-page quarterly newsletter to members and non-members alike. The Sandpiper has been a labor of love and exists as an expression of our collective experiences, photos, knowledge and stories all about our beloved birds.Â
Our mission at the GSBAS is to advocate for the conservation of habitat for native birds and other native wildlife on Long Island. While in many ways we work tirelessly to do all of this, we have delayed a very obvious area of conservation until now.Â
We are no longer printing and mailing our Sandpiper and our newsletter will only be available in email form or by request as a copy.
If you would like to receive this newsletter email in the future,  please visit our membership page.  Membership – Great South Bay Audubon Society. Printed and mailed copies of the Sandpiper must be paid for in advance. They are $4 per copy/$48 per year.Â
For all other questions related to the newsletter or to submit articles email greatsouthbayaudubon@gmail.com and if you would like to submit photos to be featured click here. https://bit.ly/3ICsVUE

Parks and Trails on Long Island – Sept/Oct 2025
I love going to the beach because it is so beautiful and quiet beach with great views. I love walking along the water to the rocks and back-it’s a great workout. It’s fun looking for shells.
